Software Summer Intern

Job Description
Mercury Systems seeks students enrolled in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math, Physics or related disciplines to fill intern positions on software and systems development project teams. Internships are available during the summer (full-time at 40 hours/week) at Mercury's offices in the Purdue Research Park in West Lafayette, Indiana.
 
Mercury Systems' Security Processing Solutions division creates sophisticated software, firmware, and hardware security products that protect critical IP on systems and applications from both domestic and international nation-state threats. Given the widespread use of mission critical software in military systems and industry today, it is essential that these systems be protected against the threats of tampering and reverse engineering by unauthorized entities. We have built a dynamic, team-oriented, and highly creative work environment.
 
Responsibilities
Interns will become part of existing project teams. Within the team, potential assignments could include:
· Prototype security tools and mechanisms.
· Participate in requirements, design, and code reviews.
· Evaluate and assess the strengths/weaknesses of software security mechanisms.
· Develop test plans and test suites.
· Perform testing and enhance application stability.
· Infuse new ideas into the engineering roadmap.
· Create training/educational short courses/seminars.
· Other duties as may be assigned.
 
Required Skills
* U.S. Citizenship required. Applicant may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and special program clearances.
· Enrolled in a four-year technical degree program 
· Knowledge of Windows and Linux.
· Knowledge of C/C++
· Knowledge of Office tool suites (i.e., Microsoft Word, Power Point, Visio, Excel, etc.)
 
Desired Skills 
· Embedded and real-time systems
· Cryptography
· Intel x86 assembly
· Software Protection /Anti-Tamper techniques 
· US DoD and Intelligence Community security
· Debuggers, Disassemblers, Decompilers, Hardware/Software Emulator, Hex Editors, and Memory Dump Tools
