There are so many possibilities as a college student in the summer. Thankfully, if you are passionate about playing sports and working with military youth, We Are Camps can provide you with all of these possibilities in a unique, paid job experience running weeklong sports camps to help children of active duty service members have a memorable and enjoyable summer camp experience. You will gain applicable resume building experience AND get paid to travel and inspire children all over the country!
With We Are Camps, you will travel to military bases as part of a two-person team where you will run weeklong non-traditional sports camps for children of service members. Teach the game objectives, skills and rules of a different sport each day and finish the day with a game. Start the period with team building sessions to build cohesion and emphasize fun.
If you have ever wanted to travel the country and check items off your bucket list, this opportunity is for you. Sideline Sports Camp is a mobile camp theme where you are the camp. You travel on a weekly basis with all necessary equipment, which you set up and break down each day. Vehicles, trailers and all travel expenses are provided, along with a salary and travel per diem. (International locations are also available.)
We are looking for candidates who are:
· Comfortable with extended periods of travel
· Adaptive to quickly changing environments
· Good communication and presentation skills
· Accept constructive feedback and seek constant improvement
Teaching or coaching experience, or currently pursuing a teaching career, is preferred but not required. Students majoring in Exercise Science, Education, or a different sports related field would be great for this position as well. Applicants must be able to attend training in Champaign, Illinois one week of May 2020, and requires the ability to travel up to 10-12 consecutive weeks beginning June 1. Applicants must pass a tier one background check and have a good driving record.
