Under the direction of a pharmacist, the student technician performs the following tasks: 
  • Customer service
  • Stocking and removing medications from automation
  • Packaging medications
  • Non-sterile compounding (suspensions, topicals, etc.)
  • Inventory control
  • Ordering drugs
  • Delivery of medications throughout the facility
  • Triage of order priority
  • Aseptic preparation of sterile medications
  • Preparation of hazardous medications
  • Utilize automated compounding equipment
