Breeder Associate Summer Intern- Janesville, Wisconsin

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assistance with spring plantings
  • Preparation/layout and planting of seed for research plots
  • Data collection and pollination
  • Stand counts and plot thinning
  • Self and cross pollinations
  • Post-pollination/pre-harvest notes
  • Ear harvesting and shipping to processing sites
  • Assist with summer corn nursery when available
  • Assist with a crew of pollinators
  • Learn and follow Syngenta safety and stewardship protocols
  • Complete training and identify concerns throughout internship program



 Education & Experience:
  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Business, or another closely related field of study
  • Must express interest in the seed R&D industry and willingness to learn
  • Must hold valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • All applicants must be eligible to work in the US
  • Field corn pollination experience preferred but not required
