ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES INTERN – SAN DIEGO COAST DISTRICT
The reporting location for this position is the San Diego Coast District Office, 4477 Pacific Highway, San Diego, CA 92110. This position will work under the supervision of the Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisor).
The Environmental Services Intern (ESI) will support the District’s Coastal Planning and Natural Resources Programs including Coastal Adaptation Planning for resources and facilities projects, Coastal Permitting, CEQA document review and preparation, Attending agency and stakeholder meetings, supporting the Sector Superintendent’s defensive planning and real property needs. The ESI will also need to support natural resources maintenance, inventory, and restoration tasks. The ESI will also perform some construction monitoring tasks to support compliance with regulatory permits and best management practices.
Must be able to work in an office environment, perform strenuous outdoor work, and be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
This position requires a valid Class C driver’s license.
This position may work up to 1500 hours per year.
Priority consideration will be given to any person receiving State public assistance under the CalWORKS program.
