Immunology and Respiratory Drug concept discovery - Co-Op (1913977)

Description:

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Co-op candidate to join our Immunology and Respiratory Disease Research department located at our Ridgefield, CT facility. As a Co-op, you will work in a macrophage biology lab to deliver key data to support drug discovery efforts. Your primary focus will be to assist in running cellular assays (primary and cell lines) to test both small molecule inhibitors and antibodies for effects on macrophage biology.

Duties & Responsibilities:

·      Isolate and culture human immune cells
·      Conduct cell assays combined with RNA and protein analyses
·      Utilize and optimize laboratory robotics systems for experimental processes
·      Analyze and visualize data utilizing Excel and other data analysis and visualization software 

Requirements:

Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.
Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.000 (on 4.0 scale) or better (No rounding up).
Major must be related to the field of internship.

Desired Experience, Skills and Abilities:

·      Lab experience in cell biology or immunology
·      Interest and/or experience in coding or robotics a plus
·      Experience with cell culture and cell assays a plus

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
Must be 18 years of age or older
