Ms. Social Media Internship

Social media interns will work closely with our digital editor to craft and implement strategies for social media management, digital promotions and online community-building projects—and have the opportunity to share some of the print magazine production responsibilities described above and contribute to the Ms. website. This is a great, hands-on opportunity to learn how to leverage social media to create social change and gain insight into how social media shapes digital publishing—as well as a chance to grow your own social media bonafides. Applicants should be well versed in using a variety of social media platforms and work well under pressure and at a fast pace.

This internship is unpaid, but eligible for academic or course credit if approved by your educational institution.

+ A cover letter and resume. Please include a GPA on your resume or attach a transcript, and note in your cover letter the date you can begin.
+ Two references and/or letters of recommendation. Letters may be submitted separately to the same email address.
+ At least one journalistic / non-academic writing sample. Writing samples should not exceed 2,000 words. It is preferred that they are sent as attachments, not links.
+ Links to social media work samples. Show off! Send links to accounts you’ve managed, hashtags you launched or even social media shareable graphics you designed. Please include your personal accounts as well.
+ Three social media suggestions for Ms. For each, please describe in a short paragraph a new approach or a change to our own social media work that you would suggest to our team.
