STAFF ACCOUNTANT
MONROE COUNTY CLERK & COMPTROLLER OFFICE
 
 
The Monroe County Clerk of Circuit Court & Comptroller is seeking candidates for a full-time Staff Accountant to be an integral team member of the Clerk’s Finance Department. This position is located in Key West, Florida.
 
The Staff Accountant is responsible for developing and maintaining the Clerk’s annual operating budgets; preparing and submitting annual, quarterly, and monthly reports to the State of Florida; reviewing and posting daily receipts to the general ledger; and working closely with the Clerk Accounting Supervisor to prepare year-end financial statements and workpapers for the annual financial audit.  
 
The successful candidate will have: (1) an undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent governmental accounting experience; (2) ability to maintain effective working relationships with others including with the public and other governmental agencies; (3) demonstrated proficiency in using Excel, working with database applications and financial accounting systems; and (4) excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. A CPA is a preferred requirement.
 
Salary is dependent on qualifications.
