Postdoctoral Associate

The Palliative Research Center (PaRC) within the Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine invites applications for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on several projects related to chronic pain, opioid prescribing, opioid addiction, and serious illness.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to take a leadership role in ongoing research projects including testing a behavioral intervention for chronic pain in people living with HIV, and studies that involve addressing opioid misuse behaviors in primary/palliative care/oncology settings. This individual will also be encouraged to develop personal research aligned with the broad goals of the PIs and their collaborators. As part of the post-doctoral experience, the successful candidate will receive mentorship on developing research proposals, and participation in career development activities such as conference attendance and selected coursework will be encouraged and funded on a case-by-case basis.

Qualifications: The successful candidate should have a PhD in clinical psychology, sociology, health services research, or a related field. The candidate should demonstrate an academic record of excellence, independent research, and a strong interest in behavioral science, pain, palliative care, and substance use research.
