2020 Full-time Portfolio Analyst, US (Undergrad)


Positions are located in Newport Beach, CA and New York City, NY

Portfolio Analyst Program

Portfolio Analysts must build solid internal relationships and partnerships with Portfolio Management across the firm’s global offices. Additionally, the role frequently interacts with Account Management, Product Management, Legal and Compliance and Operations. 

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: trade sizing and allocations, order management, compliance analysis, specialist desk support, portfolio reporting and analysis, attribution analysis, cash management, flow hedging and transitions. In addition to the day to day analyst responsibilities, successful completion of required training at each level of the program is required by all candidates in the program.


Career Development, Training and Mentoring

The PIMCO Fundamentals training program will provide you with the skills, knowledge and relationships that will prepare you to succeed as you start the Analyst program. Formal and informal training will continue throughout your time in the program, creating a rigorous learning environment. The objective is to provide you with a diverse learning experience across products and key disciplines within investment management. In addition, you will gain extensive exposure to industry experts within Product Strategy as well as other functional teams across the firm. Mentoring is a critical component of your success; you will be teamed with a seasoned professional who will provide guidance and mentorship throughout the program.


Portfolio Analyst Program Details

- Starts in early July 2020

- Three year program commitment required

- Training program designed for each year in the Analyst Program

- Formal mentorship program

- Reviews/feedback during each level of the Analyst program

- The PIMCO Early Career Development Program is for junior employees at the Analyst level. The program’s objective is to develop top talent with a focus on career development, mobility and employee engagement.

Requirements
·   Undergraduates with an expected graduation date of Dec 2019 - June 2020
·   Minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average, on a 4.0 scale or the equivalent, at an accredited 4-year college or university
·   Fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing)
·   Analyst program commitment is 3 years

Desired candidates should possess the following characteristics:
·   Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Excel (Excel-based calculations, presenting data in the proper format, simple macro builds, pivot tables, using Excel functions to analyze data).  A skills assessment will be administered during the interview process.
·   Strong interest in the financial markets, macroeconomics, and investment finance
·   Outstanding analytical skills with a proven ability to function efficiently and problem-solve in a high-pressure and time-critical environment
·   Exceptional communication skills are required to operate in a complex financial and mathematical environment   
·   Ethical, collaborative, organized, flexible, high-energy, self-starter, accountable, humble
·   Finance/capital markets coursework is recommended
