Victim Advocate

Description
Quanada, a domestic violence shelter and rape-crisis center, is seeking a Victim Advocate to provide trauma-informed, client-centered advocacy services to victims of sexual violence.
Work Schedule
8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday-Friday
     -Rotating on-call duties

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, human services, psychology, or related field.
Passionate about serving survivors of sexual violence
Knowledge of small group interaction dynamics
Ability to establish and maintain effective interpersonal and inter-group relationships with people of diverse backgrounds

Essential Responsibilities and Job Duties
Provide information and support to clients regarding victim rights                  
Provide crisis-intervention services to hotline and walk-in clients        
Respond to victims of sexual violence at the emergency room                        
Accompany victims to court appearances                                                
Participate in SART team development and on-going team activities               
Provide training to medical and law enforcement personnel                          
Act as a liaison and engage in other advocacy efforts on behalf of clients        
Provide both intra agency referrals and outside referrals.                            
Coordinate data entry and filing of service records                                        
Prepare proper documentation                                                                
Other duties that support the mission of Quanada
