Early Childhood ABA Therapist

Department: Early Childhood Clinic

Summary: Provide individual and small group instruction using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis to students with autism under the supervision of a Behavior Analyst.

Responsibilities
◾Provide direct instruction using the principles of applied behavior analysis
◾Ensure supervision and safety of assigned students in classroom, school, and community settings
◾Consistently implement student behavior intervention plans
◾Accurately record, monitor, and analyze student data
◾Maintain designated student program books and online data collection portal
◾Actively problem solve when student progress is not going in the desired direction and make necessary changes to ensure student success
◾Create instructional materials
◾Attend and actively participate in weekly team meetings
◾Assist teacher with the development of Individual Educational Plans/Individualized Family Services Plans as assigned
◾Arrive punctually for work and demonstrate exceptional attendance
◾Hold confidential all knowledge of students and their families

Essential Qualifications
◾Bachelor’s Degree, Education or Psychology preferred
◾Ability to perform several tasks simultaneously
◾Cooperative participation within a team
◾Willingness to participate in and a desire for on-going training and professional development
◾Excellent verbal and written communication skills with colleagues and parents
◾Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment
◾Computer skills related to common office tasks such as email, conducting internet searches, and using MSOffice (e.g., MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint)
◾Support of program philosophy

Desired Qualifications
◾Registered Behavior Technician (or eligible to become RBT certified)
◾Experience working with students with autism or other special needs
◾Knowledge of behavioral principles and instructional strategies based on applied behavior analysis
◾Experience with data collection and analysis
◾School based teaching experience
◾Demonstrated ability to problem solve skill acquisition and behavior intervention programs
◾Knowledge of and experience with assistive and instructional technology
◾Sign language
