Amusement Park Accounting and Bank Intern

Description:
If you are looking to gain experience in accounting and cash management in the most fun environment possible, this is the opportunity for you! This position offers the most unique, fun yet demanding, and rewarding atmosphere in which a student could spend their summer. This is a position that will assist the Cash Control Director in all aspects of operations in the Accounting department. The student will have the opportunity to be part of the planning, preparation, and execution of a full amusement park season. This is a great opportunity for students who have just finished their Freshmen or Sophomore year.
Duration:
May – September 2020. Weekends only May, full time June, July and ¾ of August, optional weekends-only after Fall semester begins. Must be able to help with our final event of the season.

Specific duties:
• Reconcile cashier drawers and cash drops
• Record and process financial information through banking software
• Invoice company outings and reconcile payments
• Reconcile general ledger accounts        
• Issue and record refunds
• Run daily reports for the Park, Hotel and Restaurant
• Assist with general accounting period –end closing procedures
• Run audits on cashier drawers and investigate variances
• Work directly with department heads to accomplish other accounting tasks
Qualifications:
• Strong problem solving skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel and other computer programs
• Independent, resourceful worker
• Ability to work in fast paced environment and handle stress
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work nights, weekends, and holidays
• Lift and carry up to 30lbs
• Experience in cash handling and team leadership is preferred
Majors:
Accounting, Finance, Business Management; Hospitality Management; Event Management; General Business.

Details:
• $11.00/hour
• 40-50 hours a week during park season, no time-and-a-half
• Ability to work 50+ hours if desired
