Campus Recruiter (Talent Acquisition Specialist)

As a part of the Human Resources function, the Talent Acquisition Team focuses on building and improving programs and processes to efficiently recruit top talent to join CONMED. These efforts are continuously enhancing CONMED’s position as a destination for talent among diverse internal and external stakeholders. We are seeking an organized and relationship-focused Talent Acquisition Specialist focused on University Recruiting to join our team and contribute to our ever-growing program offerings.

As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will coordinate the CONMED internship program, ensuring a best-in-class experience for both intern supervisors and student program participants. You will also contribute to corporate communications activities by creating engaging content such as newsletters and announcements. Your leadership in these areas will directly contribute to increasing our ability to align and inspire top talent regarding CONMED’s mission and strategy, ultimately attracting and engaging talent at CONMED.

Responsibilities:

Internship Program                                                                                                           
Program Operations
  • Execute operational aspects of the internship program, ensuring a best-in-class experience for both intern supervisors and student program participants
  • Coordinate annual intern request process
  • Deliver training for intern supervisors and campus teams
  • Use insights gained from feedback surveys and external bench marking to provide recommendations for program improvements
  • Maintain working knowledge of relevant employment laws, regulations, and legal rulings and ensure compliance and integrity in all activities
Recruitment
  • Develop strong relationships with university career services staff, academic counseling staff, faculty and other departments such as athlete and veteran student success teams in order to build partnerships that attract top talent to CONMED opportunities
  • Lead recruiting efforts for internship positions, acting as a recruiter for assigned internships and partnering as needed with other talent acquisition team members, ensuring a premier candidate experience for all program applicants
  • Edit internship descriptions and administer postings on CONMED’s career page and school specific job boards via platforms such as Handshake and Symplicity
  • Coordinate on-campus event (such as career fairs or information sessions) logistics including registration, invoice payment, organizing materials (banners, giveaways, table drapes, etc.) and CONMED employee representation
  • Coordinate on-campus interview logistics including communicating and partnering with career center staff, setting timelines, and coaching and training CONMED campus interviewers
Branding and Marketing
  • Obtain campus specific information regarding positioning of the competition and suggest ideas on how to build CONMED’s brand on-campus
  • Collaborate with internal marketing communications team create effective marketing and branding materials and collateral

Corporate Communications Program
  • Create written content such as announcements, interviews and articles for internal and external platforms such as newsletters, blogs, social media and more
  • Collect and edit content from teams throughout CONMED for use in various communications
  • Support users of internal communications system with administrative needs

Position Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required. All majors will be considered however a focus on liberal arts (e.g. english, history), social sciences (e.g. sociology, anthropology, psychology), communications, marketing, human resources or another related field with an emphasis on communication (verbal, written, and/or visual) is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present and convey information in small and large group settings
  • This position may be based out of either the Largo, FL or Utica, NY site
  • Must be able to travel approximately 30% of the time to U.S. based CONMED facilities, industry conferences and university campuses
