Nuveen Rotational Program – Nuveen Advisory Services Track

PROGRAM OVERVIEW: The Nuveen Advisory Services (NAS) Track within the Nuveen Rotational Program offers an exciting mix of strategically aligned assignments, professional development, and the ability to experience and gain exposure to many facets of our organization. The environment is challenging, hands on, and full of growth opportunities.
Candidates can expect to work with financial services platforms and tools and will learn the techniques, disciplines and processes that deliver the highest quality results to our customers.

Rotational assignments are employed during the program to begin your career in building an understanding of the global asset management business and be able to experience cross-asset class proficiency.
 
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS: This program is a 2 year rotational program. As part of the program, you will have the opportunity to experience three 8 month rotational experiences in areas such as Product, Business Strategy, Distribution, Marketing and/or Solutions. You will have unique networking opportunities and access to Nuveen Senior Leadership; experience ongoing personal and professional development opportunities and participate in financial services and behavioral based training. The program begins in June 2020.

ROTATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES:  NAS aligns and focuses our professionals who develop, market and sell investment strategies and solutions to clients to understand their needs and empower them with investments, insights and best-in-class service resulting in optimal financial outcomes.
You will have the opportunity to work within the following NAS business areas: Strategy and Business Management, Distribution/Sales, Marketing, Product and Solutions. Job responsibilities will vary based on your placement in one of the following areas:

Strategy & Business Management: The Strategic Initiatives is comprised of teams that project manage and lead large strategic initiatives throughout the firm, with examples including reshaping our US Wealth channel, putting together 5 year Distribution strategy, and putting the right operating model in place for client service across the firm to be able to serve traditional and alternative clients in a consistent way.
Business Management is comprised of 6 business managers tasked with running the day-to-day businesses of our distribution organizations in US Wealth, US Institutional, and International. These individuals operate as “mini-COOs” and collaborate with members of the distribution teams to ensure the proper execution of firm initiatives, metrics, budget tracking, and strategic thinking.

Distribution: The Distribution team is responsible for distributing Nuveen's products and solutions globally and is responsible for driving growth outside the U.S., drawing on the entire firm's investment affiliates and solutions to help clients address their unique challenges and goals.
Specifically the Global Learning & Development team within Distribution is tasked with delivering a platform that supports a culture of knowledge acquisition and skill development within the Nuveen Advisory Services organization. Through a partnership with the US and International Sales Leaders, this team accelerates the knowledge and skills for Nuveen products, asset classes, competitive landscape, regulatory and business practices, technological platforms, selling skills and other elements that contribute to the team’s success. We support all investment offerings relevant to our Distribution teams, working with key stakeholders within Nuveen, TIAA, investments, product, marketing and others around the firm so that we elevate the portfolio construction conversation with our clients. In addition, we expand the reach of our thought leadership through our practice management team which delivers content that connects to the concerns of our clients and positions Nuveen as a valued partner to their businesses.

Marketing: The Marketing group packages and positions the full range of Nuveen investment capabilities as competitively differentiated solutions tailored to channel-specific client needs.

Product: Product is accountable for the delivery of Nuveen’s investment capabilities through their lifecycle, from idea generation to rationalization, with a relentless focus on providing strategies that achieve Nuveen’s clients’ goals.

Solutions: Solutions brings together Nuveen’s best thinking and full breadth of investment capabilities to deliver portfolios aligned with investors’ desired outcomes

REQUIRED SKILLS:
·       Bachelor’s degree: Finance, Economics, Accounting and/or Business Management or related degree.
·       Graduation date between December 2019 and May/June 2020
·       Minimum Overall GPA of 3.0
·       Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook - at least 2 years of work or academic experience)
 
DESIRED SKILLS:
·       Internship experience is a plus
·       Leadership skills and a commitment to shared success (i.e. works well in teams)
·       Strong verbal and written communication skills
·       Ability to adapt and embrace change
