LMS Administrator

FlightSafety International is seeking interested candidates for a Learning Management System Administrator role located near DFW Airport. This position is based at our Operations Center, and will work cooperatively throughout all levels of FlightSafety teams to successfully support FlightSafety’s vision to be the world’s premier aviation training company; known for its outstanding customer service, superior quality training and products, operational excellence and talented Teammates.

Essential Functions:
 
  • Provide information and training to Learning Center teammates, as it relates to their use of the Learning Management Systems and supporting applications. This support includes taking ownership, prioritizing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and follow-through.
  •  
  • Provide timely second and third level (tier) administrative support to Clients and Teammates, as it relates to their use of the Learning Management Systems and supporting applications. This support includes taking ownership, prioritizing, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and following through to ensure satisfaction and prompt response.
 
  • Document all reported issues, questions or suggestions, in S&E help-desk system and Project Tracking System (TFS). Help with analyzing and providing solutions to above documented items.
  •  
  • Configuration and deployment of courseware deliverables within the Learning Management System.
  •  
  • Coordinate and participate in systems maintenance and upgrades.
 
  • Coordinate escalations with vendors and other FlightSafety resources as appropriate.
 
  • Define and document system application improvements. Vet requirements with a cross section of teammates to ensure the enhancements add value to all users of the system.
 
  • Assist Software Developers with requirement and functionality clarification. Participate in Quality Assurance Testing to ensure a successful implementation.
  •  
  • Develop and maintain training materials; including presentations, user guides, and troubleshooting materials to support teammates in their use of the Learning Management Systems and supporting applications.
 
  • Deliver remote and in-person training in a variety of settings (ad-hoc training, one-on-one teammate training, group sessions).
 
  • Work as part of the Courseware Service Development group to establish strategic and tactical goals to design a competitively-superior learning experience.

Documentation/Report Activities
 
  • Develop and maintain reports (scheduled and adhoc) for Teammates and Customers.
  •  
  • Provide timely reporting of applicable system metrics.
  •  
  • Create specifications, procedures, user guides, work instructions, etc.
  •  
  • Develop logic and process flowcharts.
  •  
  • Prepare charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submit recommendations for solutions.
 
  • Assist in the evaluation of product selection, production planning, and resource management.
 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 
 
Associate’s Degree (A.A.) or higher preferred, three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination or education and experience; equivalency years’ experience substitution must be in related field. Experience in administration of industry standard LMS, or equivalent, required.
 
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and/or digital content delivery.
  • Experience with using IT Service Management platforms.
  • Experience in creating supporting documentation and training materials.
  • Experience in delivering training on the use of software applications.
  • Fluency in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Aviation terminology/background, a plus.
 
Software Knowledge and Skills:
  • Learning Management Systems, and/or Learning Record Systems:
  • Strong knowledge of SCORM, AICC and XAPI (Tin Can) specifications.
  • Agile Project/Development Systems (Jira, TFS…), a plus.
  • Version Control (SVN, GIT), a plus.
  • SQL (MSSQL, MySQL), a plus.
  • Scripting (Pearl, BASH, Batch, PowerShell), a plus.
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
