Software Engineer II | ACT Inc.

Responsible for realizing data standardization and alignment and for the physical design and build-out of ACT’s Data Eco-System and selecting and implementing appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support data technology goals. Analyzes and recommends industry standards around data representation, meaning, and exchange and identifies and develops opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement. Authors design documents following standard templates and design processes and provides solutions for systems integration and compatibility. Contributes to the creation and maintenance of an enterprise data dictionary, working with architects and business unit leaders for all projects involving enterprise data as well as contributes to shaping the future state of the data management and software engineering organization at ACT. Works through iterative initiatives and continuous improvements to realize long-term objectives and overall data management roadmap. Mentors new team members on agile and iterative software delivery.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Information Systems with three years of IT experience that includes knowledge of Enterprise Integration strategies, including SOA and Message, and Event driven architectures and a working understanding of: Relational Databases (AWS RDS, Oracle, MySQL), PL/SQL, Java Web Services (Soap/Restful), XML, NoSQL (MongoDB), AMQP (RabbitMQ), JSON, JavaScript, J2EE Application Servers, source and target data structures, Play Framework, eCommence (Magento preferred), and Amazon Web Services.
