Associate Analyst (Global)

Summary:
This is a unique opportunity to work for Ugam, a global organization, and gain international experience. This is a full time and paid direct hire, Associate Analyst position, with three month training in Bangalore, India. The training is to prepare the team member to work directly with clients in the US offices (Santa Clara, Atlanta, Dallas or Chicago).

India Training Dates: January 15 - March 15. Ugam will manage all travel expenses to include but not limited to visa, airfare and housing expenses.

Profile Description: 
This person’s key responsibility will be to work with clients to understand their business problems and help articulate the problem with an analytics framework. 

Key Responsibilities: 
  • Understand the business of Ugam and client needs in specific
  • Work with clients to understand their business problems and help articulate the problem with an analytics framework
  • Work with onsite and offshore team to structure solutions based on analytics tools and techniques
  • Develop code, statistical models, dashboards and presentations as per client requirements
  • Assist in presenting the results of the work to client stake holders and give insights and recommendations that have tangible business impacts
  • Build relationships with clients to better understand their business, and to enable them to better understand how to use analytics to drive their business
  • Successfully leverage ideas across clients to spot opportunities and generate new sales leads.
  • Build and demonstrate capabilities to execute deliverables end-to-end including last mile to delivery with minimal hand-holding
  • Seek assistance from supervisor when needed
  • Compliance of structured problem solving approach and documentation of the same
  • Meet and exceed client expectations with high quality, timely deliveries.
  • Assist the team in process improvement / automation to increase efficiency
  • Adhere to procedures like communication protocols, operational practices / procedures, Information security practices, attendance procedures, etc.
  • Participate and actively contribute in review meetings. 

KSC for this role: 

KNOWLEDGE
  • Bachelors in Statistics, Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Technology Economics, Operations Research
  • Advanced Certificates in Big Data, Data Analytics, Data Science

Qualification: 
  • Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline, preferably Mathematics/Statistics or similar will be an added advantage 
Relevant experience: 
  • 0 - 1 years of relevant experience
  • Ability to apply first principles and structured approaches to problem solving as opposed to relying excessively on past domain expertise alone
  • A strong appreciation for Math, Retail Business and Technology
  • A strong quantitative mindset: You don’t have to be a Statistics major, but you do have to know how to work with numbers. 

SKILLS

Technical/Domain:
  • Hands on in statistical packages like SAS and R 
  • Good in PPT and Excel
  • Ability to write Code /SQL to extract data from clients databases
  • Hands on experience on dash boarding tools like Tableau, Spotfire will be preferred
