Summer Programs Onsite Coordinator

The Summer Programs Onsite Coordinator works closely with the School Programs Director at Wolf Ridge Environmental Learning Center to facilitate a positive experience for all groups that attend Wolf Ridge. The Onsite Coordinator also will teach teach outdoor, cultural history and nature-themed activities to people of all ages, including campers, family members (pre-school to grandparents) and youth groups.
 



General Duties of Summer Programs Onsite Coordinator

  • Serve as role model for students and peers: display maturity, responsibility, flexibility, enthusiasm, and sound judgment
  • Work closely with the Program coordinator to facilitate a positive experience for visiting groups.
  • Act as a liaison between Wolf Ridge and visiting groups. Build relationships with visiting groups.
  • Teach Wolf Ridge summer program classes to diverse audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Expectation is that class is of high quality that may require preparation time. Summer programs include Wolf Ridge Summer Youth Program, Road Scholars, Family Camp, visiting summer school programs, and Wilderness Trips
  • Teach/work 6-14 periods per week depending on other duties. A period may include 3-hour long daytime classes, van driving, evening naturalist presentations, 1.5- hour-long evening activities, and astronomy
  • Other projects may be substituted for teaching when necessary to fill out the workweek
  • Participate in staff training and orientation
  • Be flexible to accommodate the needs of different programs
  • Understand and adhere to all Wolf Ridge policies


Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Proof of CPR and first aid training
  • Willingness to receive life guarding and/or wilderness water safety certification
  • Display enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, and self-control; and be in good physical and emotional health
  • Take the initiative to see problems, find solutions, and make recommendations as it relates to your area of responsibility
  • Maintain a professional appearance; and possess good character, integrity, and flexibility
  • Responsible, hard-working and detail oriented
  • Minimum age 21
