Valleyfair Internal Audit Internship 2020

If you're looking for an internship where you’ll work exclusively on a Cloud audit program used by our national CPA firm, plus perform Sarbanes Oxley audits, this is the one! Our Internal Audit internship gives you critical knowledge for your future career, you’ll benefit from daily exposure to all levels of company management and to our company operations, and this will definitely make your future career interviewers want to hear more about your work accomplishments while here! To say it another way, this is NOT an internship where you're just going to change light bulbs all summer long.  We need our interns to do these objectives and more, because our interns actually become our staff auditors during the summer (as only the interns and audit managers work on our audits). And the best part is, we're also very interested in Sophomores or above applying too! If you want to learn more, we'd love to consider interviewing you (a full description is below)!

Two summer interns are needed to fill highly visible audit staff positions at Valleyfair for a large, publicly held company, Cedar Fair Entertainment Company (www.cedarfair.com). This position offers the chance to acquire an exceptional amount of audit, accounting, and business experience, while working in a fun and professional environment!

Audit staff interns perform all of our Sarbanes Oxley audits used by our external CPA firm during our operating season, under the direction and mentorship of a Corporate Internal Audit Manager. Assignments may also include audits on the controls over Revenue, Cash Receipts, Accounting and Computer Systems, Payroll, Purchasing & Expenditures, Inventory, etc., plus other projects. After completing each audit, you’ll write a report to management on your conclusion, including necessary recommendations for improvements to controls and procedures.

No prior audit experience is necessary, as training and guidance will be provided once the internship starts. Candidates must be highly motivated and able to work professionally with and without supervision. Excellent communication skills are a plus, as you’ll interact with management on a regular basis. Auditors must be willing to work approximately 40-45 hours per week over 5 days (including at least one weekend day), with varying daily schedules. Candidates should be Accounting majors in their sophomore year or above currently, have a G.P.A. of 3.25 or higher, and by preference complete two accounting courses prior to next summer's internship (and have at least one started or finished when applying).

Each intern will be paid $15.00 per hour. Since you’ll be employed at Minnesota's finest amusement park, you’ll be able to ride the amusement and water park attractions for free! Employees will also be able to benefit from many more park advantages, like a Bistro in the park for eating and employee activities.

Valleyfair does not have employee housing for the Internal Audit candidates. Valleyfair applicants must have a place to live at the time of application within approximately 60 minutes for commuting (for example at the time of any interview, you should have a family residence to stay at during the summer, or a dorm/apartment/ leased house at school, or relatives/friends you can stay with near Valleyfair for commuting).
