Esperanca HandsOn AmeriCorps VISTA Member

Join Esperanca to improve the health and provide hope for families in the poorest communities of the world through sustainable disease prevention, education, and treatment. The successful applicant will work with knowledgeable staff help launch an exciting new program empowering high school students with knowledge and opportunity to be of service while improving their own health and creating a path for their future. You will do this by: (1) Creating and/or finalizing marketing and communications materials for distribution to 6 target schools to recruit students into the summer program and create a list of students interested in future opportunities. (2) Coordinating all logistics for the summer program and classes including coordinating and attending parent-orientation while also securing guest speakers, arranging classroom supplies and tracking the project budget. (3) Compiling and analyze data from evaluations looking for successes and opportunities to adapt future programming.

We are HandsOn Greater Phoenix's AmeriCorps VISTA program. All of our VISTA positions are for one year here in the Phoenix, Arizona metro area. VISTAs who move over 50 miles qualify for a relocation allowance as well as a settling in allowance. All of our VISTAs receive a modest living allowance of around $1,000/month, plus federal loans qualify for forbearance.
