Analytic Consultant

At Kaiser Permanente, our integrated, not-for-profit model provides comprehensive, coordinated care across the lifespan. Join our analytic consulting team as we deliver data-driven insights to The Permanente Medical Group (TPMG), informing and influencing performance improvement initiatives. Our diagnostic analyses and actionable reports and dashboards drive TPMG efforts to ensure timely care and an exceptional care experience for over 4 million Kaiser Permanente members in Northern California.
Our open, collaborative work environment will allow you to develop:
- Expertise in SAS, SQL, and Tableau
- Knowledge of Kaiser Permanente’s electronic medical record and information systems
- Data extraction and management techniques
- Data analysis, measurement design, and data visualization
- Consulting prowess, working with physicians to solve complex operational challenges
In addition, our programs allow you to onboard to our department with a cohort of ~5 like-minded individuals, allowing you to collaborate an learn alongside your peers.
Passionate about data and health care? We are looking for individuals who love working with data and are well-versed in data extraction, validation, and visualization. Qualified candidates also have exceptional critical thinking and effective communication skills.
Depending on your experience, we have two tracks:
1. Internship Program:
- Current master’s students or rising fourth-year undergraduates (returning to school in fall 2020)
- OR rising graduates of master’s or undergraduate degrees and <1 year of relevant work experience
- Proficient in SAS, SQL, R, Python or equivalent language
- Available for on-site, full-time paid position based in Oakland, CA lasting at least 10 weeks
2. Full-Time Program for Recent Graduates:
- Rising graduates of a master’s program with >1 year of relevant full-time work experience
- On-the-job programming experience in SAS, SQL, R, Python or equivalent language
- Available to start a full-time position based in our Oakland, CA offices
