Visitor Experience Intern

Delaware State Parks is an award winning State Park system; awarded the 2015 NRPA gold medal for being the best managed State Park system in the country, but we are always striving to improve! We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated professional with a belief in our mission to significantly impact the quality of life for our residents and visitors by providing opportunities to be active, explore nature, and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. 
 
Help us to enhance our Visitor Experience and ensure our visitors are getting the most out of our Parks. Interns in this position will work on the implementation of the visitor experience plan and essential experiences that make each park unique. Compare Delaware State Parks visitor experiences to those of other State and National Parks to find areas of improvement, and develop a plan to effectively execute any changes. Assist in the planning and promotion of statewide programming initiatives. Work alongside administrative, marketing, and field staff from across the 17 parks to develop promotional materials, communication plans, and presentations. Gain experience in project management, cross-department collaboration, and external communication while implementing a meaningful impact to a State Park system. 
 
AmeriCorps Educational Award (optional): Interns engaged in Education, Management, Administration, or Environmental Stewardship are eligible to receive an AmeriCorps Education Award upon completion of their service if they choose. The award amount varies and is based on the total number of hours served. The award can be used for educational expenses including tuition, student loans, books, and other fees for up to 7 years after completion of service.
