Engineering Interns
This posting will remain open until all positions are filled, but initial interviews
will be conducted January 6-17, 2020.
The City of Bloomington's Engineering Division is seeking individuals to work during the 2020 summer as Engineering Interns. We have openings in the following areas:
- Two openings in Construction Inspection (One of which is a 6-month Co-Op position)
- One opening in Water Resources
- Two openings in Survey
- Two openings in Traffic
Schedules will vary. Individuals will work either 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with the possibility of overtime, depending on the position.
Examples of Duties:
- Perform survey work with electronic instruments.
- Perform field inspection.
- Check materials for conformance to specification.
- Perform traffic counts and studies.
- Communicate with the public.
- Preparing plans and maps with computer-aided drafting.
- Various office tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
- Completion of one academic year of a four-year Engineering/Surveying degree program or completion of one academic year of a two-year Civil Engineering/Surveying technical school certificate program.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
2019 Wage Range: $17.70 - $19.55 hourly. (Subject to change for 2020.)
Temporary/Seasonal 40-hour per week position, not exempt from overtime, non Benefits-Eligible.
