Equity and Diversity Internship 
The QBP Equity and Diversity Internship is comprised of multiple interns working across different areas of the business. Interns have role-specific responsibilities within their dedicated field in addition to group activities and projects. The purpose of the program is to diversify QBP and the cycling industry by encouraging talented students who are members of underrepresented communities and identities and/or students with a demonstrated commitment towards advancing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion to pursue careers in the bicycle industry. 
Eligible internship candidates are members of underrepresented communities and identities and/or students with a demonstrated commitment towards advancing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion. 
 
Dates of internship: June 8-August 14, 2019
Hours: Full-time, Monday through Friday schedule 
 
Equity & Diversity Internship— Sales Data Analyst

We expect lots of questions and lots of answers from our intern as they seek to solve pressing business questions and participate in providing analytical guidance to QBP’s leadership.
Our team is looking for a talented undergraduate student to fill this role. As an intern in our program you will have the opportunity to work on a team critical to the day to day operations of the company. You will be involved in building reporting and conducting analysis in support of our Sales and Distribution teams. Expect to have an opportunity to leave your own mark on of the future of QBP.
What you will learn: 
Work with the team to triage requests from multiple departments and leadership individuals.
• Perform valuable data analysis that provides critical solutions to real problems and determine strategies for success.
• Initiate long-term project(s) that have a real impact on the shape of QBP.
• Gain hands-on experience using SQL, Business Objects (WEBI & Explorer), and Excel.
• Develop an understanding of the key aspects of the bicycle and outdoor industries and how they differ (or mirror) in relation to distribution, supply chain, brand management, and more to other industries.

What you need to succeed: 
 • Knowledge/Skills:
o Experience using and/or ability to quickly develop proficiency in how to use business intelligence, database, and analytical applications. 
o Know how to analyze data and report on it with an attention to detail and ability to validate your work.
o Experience in data gathering, mining, modeling, and value attribution 
• Behavioral Expectations:
o Self-starter with an innate curiosity, knows how (and when) to ask good questions and speaks up.  
o Comfortable working closely with a team and various subject matter experts to achieve the best results. 
o Actively pushes information to those that need it, and follows up, without prompting.  
o Ability to understand and communicate how assumptions impact resultse to a variety of audiences.
• Experience: 
o Currently studying Business Intelligence, Economics, Applied Statistics, Business Administration, or another relevant discipline.
• Physical Requirements:
o Ability to use a computer extensively.
• Education:
o Enrolled in a full-time 4-year university degree program, with at least one semester remaining after the internship.
