Data Center Business Development Internship (Engineering/Marketing/Business Majors)

Intern with the Business Development Team in Tinley Park, IL 
Business Development is responsible for identifying and driving new revenue business models for profitable, top line growth.
This group is responsible for setting the business unit strategic direction (short and long term) that supports the overall corporate strategies. 
Requirements include being comfortable in a matrix and cross functional environment working with various levels within: 
  • Business Development 
  • Product Management & Engineering
  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • Finance
  • Research and Development.

Lastly, all of the aforementioned activities and responsibilities are monitored, measured and reported out to ensure successful execution.
In this role you will also learn to:
Create Market Assessments:
  • This project will require the gathering of a significant amount of first-hand research and a vast amount of competitive and market relevant data. ​​
  • The creation of a central repository, via Microsoft Teams, will be necessary to house and disseminate the applicable information.
 
Identify Emerging Technologies:
  • In order to achieve the desired results, the individual will be required to work with various functional groups within Panduit along with conducting a significant amount of first-hand market data gathering and mining.
  • Actively seek out, assess and translate relevant emerging IT / Data Center technologies and their impact, both opportunistic and threatening, for Panduit’s businesses
 
Understand Key DC Product Launch and Readiness Plans
  • Working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Marketing, Business Development, Sales and Digital Commerce will be imperative to complete this work.

Preferred Major: Engineering, Engineering Technology, Marketing or Business 

Preferred Minor(s): Marketing 

Required Skills / Academic Exposure: 
  • Applicants must possess strong project management skills
  • Applicants should be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and other office tools
  • Applicants should have the ability to work independently
  • Applicants should have the ability to multitask, problem solve, prioritize and exercise critical thinking skills 
  • Applicants should be outgoing, confident personality with ability establish rapport
  • Applicants should be comfortable with public speaking and providing presentations to peers
