Job Duties
- Designing and leading implementation of features
- Refactoring code to improve testability, maintainability and extensibility
- Remediating bugs and defects
- Generating unit and integration tests
- Contributing towards architecture designs including middleware and database decisions
- Decomposing user stories into tasks and estimating story points for user stories and tasks
Required Skills
- Experience with object-oriented Python development in Python 2.6 and/or 2.7
- Experience developing on/for Linux distributions including but not limited to CentOS
- Understanding of database technologies and data storage approaches including but not limited to MySQL, Postgres, MongoDB, HBase, and Redis
- Experience in Agile software development methodologies
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related field (3 years work experience in place of degree).
Desired Skills
- Experience with Git, Docker containers, Ansible, and Jenkins
- Experience writing applications and deploying them to cloud micro service architectures (AWS, OpenShift, Azure, etc.)
