Economics Instructors (Residential Summer Employment)

The Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth has exciting summer employment opportunities for enthusiastic and knowledgeable economics and mathematics instructors in our summer academic programs for students 10-16 years old.

As a CTY instructor, you lead a small class of 12-18 bright students through a rigorous and interactive three-week course with the support of a teaching assistant. In addition to a competitive salary, instructors receive housing and meals on campus.
 
Our economics courses include:
  • Fundamentals of Microeconomics (7th-10th graders)
  • Game Theory and Economics (7th-10th graders)
  • Macroeconomics and the Global Economy (7th-10th graders)
  • The Mathematics of Money (7th-10th graders)
  
Desired Qualifications
Successful instructor candidates have significant lead teaching experience and relevant degrees. Experience working with young people is strongly preferred.

Terms of Employment
  • Salary for two sessions ranges from $2,400 to $3,000 depending upon years of experience and education.
  • Housing and meals are provided at residential sites.
  • Employees provide their own transportation to domestic sites.
