Development Assistant, CEDARS Home for Children Foundation (Lincoln, NE)

CEDARS is hiring a Development Assistant to join our CEDARS Home for Children Foundation team!

The CEDARS Home for Children Foundation:

  • Exists to raise funds in support of CEDARS mission 
  • Works with donors both locally and across the nation to support the thousands of children who receive care from CEDARS each year 
  • Is committed to the highest quality stewardship of the gifts given by its donors

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE TEAM:

  • Actively contribute to CEDARS Foundation’s culture of providing excellent customer service to CEDARS donors, volunteers and staff
  • Find creative and effective ways to say “yes” to opportunities for support and engagement
  • Build and maintain relationships for the purpose of helping donors connect to CEDARS’ mission
  •  Actively communicate with donors through phone calls, email, social media, personal visits and public speaking opportunities (some of which could be outside of normal working hours) to encourage continued or growing engagement with CEDARS
  • Play an active role in planning, implementing and taking ownership of events and special projects for the Foundation, this includes maximizing the impact of special events and projects, soliciting and securing donations/sponsorships, logistics management, volunteer recruitment and working effectively with vendors
  • Coordinate and supervise volunteers on behalf of the Foundation
  • Serve as a liaison between CEDARS program staff and donors in order to solicit items needed to enhance CEDARS programs and services
  •  Maintain relevant volunteer and event files, as well as donor files within the donor database ensuring accuracy of information

SCHEDULE: Monday through Friday 8a-5p; occasional participation in evening and weekend events

WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree and experience in an administrative support role
  • You are a people person who thrives when working with donors, volunteers and coworkers in an office setting
  • You have excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • You are detail oriented
  • You are self-motivated with an eye for time management
  • You are proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. NEON or similar database experience is preferred
