Senior Research Technician / Research Assistant - Clinical Trial

Department: Aging & Metabolism - Ben Miller


The Miller Lab is seeking applicants to manage an NIH funded clinical trial with secondary responsibilities as a laboratory manager. As a clinical coordinator, at minimum the individual will manage regulatory procedures, study coordination, data collection/entry support, and subject screening. An ideal candidate would also have experience with phlebotomy.

Job Duties
• Assures adherence to all research standards as set forth by regulatory over site committees.
• Collaborates with and relays timely information to investigators and study staff.
• Reviews protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria, and confirms study eligibility.
• Conducts the informed consent process, and insures that it is properly documented.
• Recruits prospective participants and conducts data collection visits. Familiarizes potential participants with the details of the study through phone contacts and in-person interviews.
• Assures protocol compliance and completes necessary records.
• Accurately enters source data into data management software.
• Coordinates scheduling of participants, track subject participation.
• Recognizes adverse events.
• Assists with study procedures, including blood draws and other procedures.
• Updates SOP documents as needed.
• Coordinates ordering of supplies.
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
BA/BS/MS degree in the biological sciences or equivalent years of professional, paid, relevant laboratory experience.

Must be detail oriented and work as a team player. Excellent oral and written communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to work independently and adhere to strict deadlines required.

Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years of relevant research-related experience is preferred. The ideal candidate would have previous experience with a clinical trial, have had interactions with human volunteers, phlebotomy and other clinical skills. In addition, the ideal candidate would have wet lab bench skills, although this is not absolutely necessary.

Work Hours
This is a full-time position with the work hours typically between 7:30 am – 4 pm.
