Report Developer

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Report Developer, based in our Chicago (West Loop) office, is responsible for creating, monitoring, and maintaining products that transform the raw member/client data and scientific analyses into business insights that help inform both internal and external clients. These insights will assist in the operational delivery of a strategic, results-oriented wellness program. This position will be responsible for report delivery, maintenance, and development efforts with strategic and technical direction from management, internal teams, and business partners to deliver innovative solutions and reporting products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include but are not limited to:
Product Development
  • Involved in multiple aspects of the development process: requirements definition, timeline/scope estimation, technical development, and documentation. 
  • Engages with internal customers and ensures that business requirements are fully understood to ensure alignment with delivered solution.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
  • Provides management/stakeholders with accurate information about product development status and timelines.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to ensure data integrity and to develop proactive quality monitoring processes.
  • Documents the final product release against agreed upon business requirements.
Product Launch and Maintenance
  • Documents product performance metrics as defined by stakeholders.
  • Develops technical launch plans containing: timelines, distribution of deliverables, technical training, support processes, and ongoing maintenance activity.
  • Supports Client Services, Sales, and Fulfillment in using client reports as required.
  • Documents utilization metrics, performance/quality issues, user feedback, and proposed feature enhancements for released products as agreed upon.
  • Continually evaluates product viability and plan, communicate and execute end of life retirement for product when appropriate.
REQUIREMENTS and EXPERIENCE:

  • Understanding and ability to implement visual design best practices.
  • Understanding of data governance processes to ensure compliance of data and reporting systems.
  • Ability to develop quality controls to ensure accurate, consistent reporting products
  • Understanding of technical challenges related to delivery and scalability of reporting products.
  • Ability to manage, prioritize tasks and timelines.
  • Ability to analyze business requirements and translate them into technical objectives
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across disciplines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently; highly organized. 
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 
  • Degree in a quantitative field and three (3) years of relevant professional experience. BS/BA minimum.
  • Advanced experience with reporting and analytics software (IBM Cognos / Microsoft Power BI)
  • Advanced analysis and data management skills (T-SQL / Excel).
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft SQL Server / Azure database environment
