GreenChoice is building the world’s most trusted food discovery and insights platform to help you find and buy the right food for you. We aggregate and analyze evidence-based data on diet, health, and sustainability to connect our users with products that match their dietary preferences and values.
We are looking for an experienced, energized, and passionate sustainability expert who is eager to bring their expertise in environmental science, food systems and agriculture to a creative, small, and scrappy team with big aspirations.
As our Principal Sustainability Scientist, your primary focus will be to guide the design and development of our sustainability systems (environmental impact, human rights, transparency), in close collaboration with our data science team and product team. You should blend experience as a practicing sustainability scientist with expertise in related research fields to leverage the most current findings in sustainable agriculture and food supply chains to empower users to shop and eat in ways that align with their personal values.
We hope you will lean in and add not only domain expertise but contribute creative insight (and a sense of humor) as a compassionate provocateur, an outstanding listener, and a relentless problem solver.
Critical - you ‘must have’ expertise in almost all of the following:
- Environmental science
- Sustainable agriculture &/or food systems
- Supply chain analysis
We want - you ‘ideally have’ expertise or experience in some of the following:
- Carbon &/or water footprinting
- Farming
- Corporate sustainability &/or corporate social responsibility (CSR)
- Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG)
Bonus points - you are ‘made for us’ if you also have experience in any of the following:
- Product development
- Data science
- Consumer packaged goods
- Nutrition science &/or dietetics
- Foodtech &/or informatics
- Behavioral science &/or psychology
