Senior IT Technician - Warren, MN

The Senior IT Technician is responsible for providing lead support for server and software installment and maintenance in addition to supporting performing ongoing maintenance and repair work on computer related equipment such as laptops, desktops, printers, servers and any piece of computer related peripheral or software.
*** Ideal candidate will be located in Warren, MN. Relocation may be available. ***
KEY FUNCTIONS:
  • Provide network management through firewall and switch configuration, management, and troubleshooting. Learn and operate the necessary monitoring software to provide customers with a great experience and the least amount of down time possible.
  • Repair and support hardware and software installation.
  • Install backup software for backing up to on site or clouds services
  • Troubleshoot and help with IT related questions / connections / software vendor issues with special focus on advanced tickets and customer issues.
  • Resolve issues in a timely matter through daily review of service tickets in the CRM platform.
  • Communicate escalated issues to customers to keep them informed of progress, notify them of impending changes or agreed outages, etc.
  • Develop specific knowledge of the customer and how IT relates to their business
  • Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively and professionally in all forms of communication with internal and external customers.
  • Operate and drive a Company vehicle in accordance with Midco’s “Use of Vehicle for Company Business” policy
  • Adhere to Midco’s privacy guidelines to ensure each customer’s privacy.
  • Maintain regular attendance as required by your position.

  • Knowledge of IT applications, processes, software, and equipment
  • Interpersonal skills: such as telephone, typing skills, communication and organizational skills, active listening and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple service tickets, priorities and/or projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
  • Function as an effective team member while supporting the efforts and strategies, initiatives and projects of other departments.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • High school or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer related field and two years of equivalent work experience or a minimum of four years of equivalent work experience is required.
  • Maintain a current and valid driver’s license and good to excellent driving record. A DUI within the last 5 years disqualifies you from employment in this position.
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or carry loads of up to 50 lbs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is moderate.
  • Employees may be required to work in excess of 40 hours per week and other than normal business hours, such as holidays, evenings and weekends as business demands.
