Summer Intern, Regulatory Compliance

Our comprehensive, 12-week paid internship program gives you the opportunity to test your skills working for the nation’s leading producer of cleaner fuels and developer of renewable chemicals. This internship will begin May 18, 2020 and end August 7, 2020.
POSITION PURPOSE: 
The purpose of this position is to support the compliance and sales departments with commercial compliance matters. Additionally this position supports the company’s corporate compliance efforts to manage risk and comply with industry best practices while adhering to federal, state, local and international laws and regulations. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Contracts Administration
• Be responsible for document control throughout the life of sales contracts including drafting and/or reviewing contractual obligations while managing and monitoring contract activities in Salesforce 
• Collaborate with internal business units on clarifying and correctly capturing contractual terms
• Exercise strong verbal and written communication skills in working with vendors, customers, regulators and employees at all levels of the company in solving problems and identifying legal issues
• Review third parties for activities that are inconsistent with company policies and procedures related to anti-bribery and anti-corruption and advise management of any identified risks 
• Organize and maintain records of third party risks assessments
• Communicate with sales and procurement teams, fielding regulatory and compliance questions
• Research questions, describe regulatory and compliance consequences of planned import and/or export activities, and communicate with impacted parties 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Required: 2-year associate’s degree in legal studies, business or sales administration, paralegal, political science, or related field. 4-year bachelor’s degree preferred. 
Experience Required: 0-4 years of contract/document management, legal, or business administration preferred.
Skills Required: 
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Special skills or knowledge preferred:
Salesforce & Conga Products Suite, as well as any Electronic Signature Platform experience will be helpful
