Business Management Intern

Quartz is seeking an intern to join our Business Management and Operations team. This paid internship will offer participants the opportunity to learn important skills based on real-world experience in a fun and dynamic work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Complete special projects such as budget planning, workforce management, productivity reports and dashboards, etc.
  • Shadow supervisors and develop basic leadership skills, including performance management and formal 1:1 documentation processes
  • Learn to conduct qualitative and quantitative trending and root cause analysis
  • Learn basic supervisory skills
  • Hiring and interviewing process
  • Effective communication and documentation
  • Formal 1:1 documentation process
  • Gain knowledge of insurance industry
  • Gain knowledge of different insurance departments and supervisory functions within operational departments, including but not limited to:
  • Business Analysis
  • Customer Service
  • Claims
  • Distribution Services
  • Enrollment
  • Communicate results to leadership through a final presentation

The successful candidate will be responsible for adhering to company policies, work hours, and
rules governing professional staff behavior.


Qualifications

  • Demonstrated commitment to a Business Management career path
  • Ability to work 40 hours/week between June and August
  • Sophomore or Junior class standing preferred at time of hire
  • Effectively contributes and thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented work environment
  • Works well under pressure and is adaptable to change.
  • Presents a positive and professional image.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Candidates will work from our office in Madison, WI. Occasional travel between offices for team meetings and activities may be expected. Quartz offers a professional culture built upon the values of Respect, Responsibility and Relationships.
