Outdoor Education Program Leader

JOB OVERVIEW   

Are you looking for a chance to work with children in the outdoors?  Working with our Education Services team is a great way to gain experience in environmental education and make a positive impact on the lives of youth through day camps and other programs! What are we looking for? Someone with a flexible schedule, as this job requires some evening and weekend work. We’re also looking for completion of at least two years of a Bachelor’s degree program in environmental education/interpretation or related field along with six months of related experience working with children and/or leading conservation-related programs, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Driving is an essential part of the job, so for your safety and those around you, we require applicants to have a current, valid driver’s license and to complete a pre-employment drug screening. Our program responsibilities require you to be able to lift up to 80 lbs. and to be capable of canoeing up to seven miles.

 

Start date is May 18th, with work ending by mid-August. Employees will be based out of either the Prairieview Education Center in Crystal Lake or the Lost Valley Visitor Center in Glacial Park, north of McHenry. If you have a preference, please indicate so in your cover letter.
