Long-Term Intern, Capital Markets - Portfolio Strategy (Grinnellink)

Position Purpose:
The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines seeks a Long-term intern to assist with Portfolio Management and Treasury processes, which are likely to include reporting, trade analysis, project management, assistance to analytical and trading staff and development of systems knowledge.
This will also include learning the Bank’s pre-trade analytic systems such as Principia and Polypaths.
Core bank hours are 8:00 a.m.- 5:00 p.m. Recent or current master students and candidates in a quantitative discipline who are able to work full-time hours are preferred. This paid internship is expected to run for 9 months.
Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, math, engineering, or science
•Student in graduate or master's program preferred
•Knowledge of fixed income and derivative products preferred
•Financial analysis experience dealing with fixed-income instruments such as mortgage backed securities and derivatives helpful
•Strong skills in Excel, Access and Word; Programming skills are a plus
•Familiarity with Bloomberg helpful
•Strong communication skills
•Detail oriented
