Recreation Aide-Lake Macbride State Park

Assist a park ranger and park manager with the buildings and grounds maintenance duties at Lake Macbride State Park, to include grass mowing and trimming, trail repair, cleaning of restrooms, shower buildings, fish cleaning station, day-use lodges and maintenance shops; litter removal, painting to include preparation and clean-up, sign repairs, cleaning fire rings and stand up grills, and a great variety of park maintenance tasks throughout the summer. Duties also include equipment maintenance such as mower blade sharpening and engine oil changes, and operation of chainsaws, string trimmers, boats, and tractors. There is sometimes a limited amount of office work required, including reviewing campsite, cabin, shelter, and lodge reservations on a computer. This position will require professional interpersonal interaction with the public to insure park visitors’ safety. We also expect attention to detail, ability to work independently, initiative and a high standard of ethics.

·        Must be available for all interviews and training as required

·        Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license

·        Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

·        Able to work alone, with the public, in all conditions, on weekends, holidays, nights, and evenings as required. 

·        Able to withstand physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, or hauling

·        Work with minimal supervision, demonstrate responsible behavior and attention to detail

·        Follow policy and cooperate with supervisors and co-workers

Pass a criminal background check and have no history of sex crimes
