Poultry Service Tech

About the Role:
Kalmbach Feeds Poultry Service Technician requires an intelligent, hardworking, and innovative individual who can effectively care for pullets, maintain clean barns, enforce pest management procedures, ensure all birds have consent access to feed and water, all while monitoring lighting, temperature and air quality. The Poultry Service Technician is a role of high responsibility, conducting husbandry activities and related functions, proactively maintaining bio-security protocols, and ultimately supporting the production and profitability of the birds. This includes excellent organization skills, high attention to detail and the desire to work with live birds.  
• You are happy to relocate to the West Salem - Wooster, Ohio area (if needed) 
• You monitor the care of layer flocks by regularly checking the weight of the birds  
• You help perform and oversee vaccination of animals and assist with collecting blood samples 
• You ensure bio -security protocols are being followed 
• You assist with documentation preparation for flock management and regulatory compliance, while communicating any issues to the direct supervisor 
• You safeguard the well being of the flock and ensure each animal is cared for reporting any husbandry issue to management in a timely manner 
• You desire to work with Poultry on a daily basis 

Who you are:
• Have a minimum of an Associate’s degree in Animal Science, Agriculture, or related field 
• Possess high energy level and the drive required to proactively execute Poultry Service duties within a dynamic business environment
• Demonstrate exemplary verbal and written communication skills
• Acquire a strong attention to detail and are well organized 
• Exhibit a strong analytical thinking ability
• Express a self-motivated attitude with the capability to set goals and objectives
• Do Not possess your own poultry flock, reptiles, or swine
