Motor Mill Intern

Clayton County Conservation, Elkader, Iowa is accepting applications For one (1) MOTOR MILL INTERN
Job Description: The Clayton County Conservation Board is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, amendable, independent, cordial college student candidate to fill the position of Historic Motor Mill Intern. The Intern will be under the direct supervision of the Clayton County Conservation Board Director. This internship is made possible in part by the Silos and Smokestacks National Heritage Area, the Motor Mill Foundation and the Clayton County Conservation Board. The Intern will be working towards several objectives related to the interpretive themes outlined in the Silos and Smokestacks Interpretive Plan. Seasonal, full-time. 40 hours per week. Will include weekend hours. Physically demanding position. Applicants will work a full day in extreme temperatures.

Qualifications: Any interested candidate should have experience with and an interest in learning more in the following fields of study: Education, Agriculture, Conservation, Preservation, History, Marketing & Communications, Graphic Design and Interpretation. The Intern should be comfortable working with the general public, presenting, fielding questions, both independent and group research and taking instructions. Must be at least 18 years old. Pre-employment physical and drug testing required.

Salary and Work Dates: $10.00 per hour, 40 hours per week. Positions begin in May and will run 14 weeks. Work will be at the Osborne Conservation Center and the Historic Motor Mill Site near Elkader, IA. Some nights and weekends required. The Intern would ideally bring to work his/her own laptop.
