Adventure Trip Leader

LINK-UP TRIP FACILITATOR
Job Description
MISSION
Mayhew challenges and helps at-risk New Hampshire boys to believe in themselves, work well with others, and find their best. We accomplish this mission through a unique and award-winning, year-round program comprised of a residential summer program and regular school-year mentoring. Boys may participate, tuition-free, through high school.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW
In the first two years, the boys (ages 10 - 12) participate in a 25-day, residential summer camp on Newfound Lake. The summer program promotes the development of improved self-esteem and behavior, goal-setting skills, healthier peer interactions, and a strong sense of belonging.
After two years, boys (ages 12 - 17) are invited to take the next step in the program by joining Link-Up for up to four more years. Links can participate in a five-day, outdoor adventure trips. Links are encouraged to challenge themselves physically and socially. It is by doing so that they learn to be more successful collaborators, more confident individuals, and important role models for the younger boys in the program.
Between summers, Mayhew’s full-time Community Outreach staff visit regularly with each boy (ages 10 - 17) and work closely with their parents, school officials, and referring agencies in support of the boys. The focus is on strengthening the relationship with each boy, modeling positive behavior, and being Mayhew, helping the boys bring the Mayhew ideals of responsibility, respect, community, and challenge to their lives at home, school, and beyond.
