The Residential Aide is to assist the participant household with immediate and concrete needs in a Commercial Hotel shelter setting. The Residential Aide performs a variety of office activities to manage and monitor client needs onsite. Direct responsibilities include working with CCS social services staff and security personnel to provide a safe shelter environment for families.
Duties and Responsibilities (Include but not limited to):
• Complete and submit VDP’s, new resident arrival packets, exits logs, daily occupancy forms, etc.
• Receive food deliveries and confirm items received/receipts for accuracy.
• Report all inconsistencies with food deliveries to appropriate Operations Supervisor.
• Sign for meal deliveries to confirm receipt.
• Distribute meals to residents and dispose of expired food items as outlined by DHS’ Food Distribution Guidelines.
• Monitor logs to ensure clients are signing in and out when entering and exiting the facility.
• Document all incident details, participants, action taken and outcomes.
• Ensure timely reporting, appropriate completion and submission of all incidents to the call center.
• Ensure all incidents are logged and filed in the incident binder.
• Ensure all visitors are properly identified, recorded in the log book and reported to the call center.
• Provide clients access to units.
• Assist in the facilitation and completion of unit transfers/swaps.
• Collaborate with CCS Social Services staff and security personnel in managing onsite incidents.
• Collect trash in office and dispose trash in designated areas.
• Distribute DHS notices (i.e. 4002 notices, appointment slips, mail, etc.) to residents.
• Adhere to CCS and DHS housekeeping mandates by cleaning office space, microwave, fridge and bathroom at the end of every shift; always maintain a clean and neat office space.
• Empty, clean and prepare units for vacancies (bag and tag client materials where needed).
• Work with CCS call center to report all activities on-site including visits and incidents.
• Work with security personnel to ensure safety of staff and residents in the program.
• Conduct hourly rounds of the facility.
• Ensure all unit doors are secured.
• Ensure no children are left onsite unattended.
• Report incidents of child abuse/neglect to the State Central Registry.
• Assist with unit inspections.
• Maintain all logs (School attendance, ACS, emergency contacts, log book, shift summaries, etc.)
• Support efforts to place families into permanent housing.
Minimum Job Requirements
• High School Diploma (or GED).
• Successfully completed 2-hour Mandated Reporter training course (Can be completed upon hire).
• Successfully completed 15-hour Food Handlers licensing course (Can be completed upon hire).
• Strong oral communication skills and writing competency.
• Ability to think and act calmly in emergency situations.
• Ability to work with a team.
