Marketing and Social Media Intern - Symetra Tour - Summer 2020

The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA), headquartered in Daytona Beach, FL, is currently seeking a 2020 summer semester intern to support the Symetra Tour starting in June 2020. Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Symetra Tour Marketing, the Marketing & Social Media Summer Intern will provide critical support by assisting with the day-to-day social posting functions for Symetra Tour channels, assist with reports and social media plans.

The internship will be based in Daytona Beach, Florida and the intern will be required to work a full-time Monday through Friday schedule, starting June 2020 through mid-August 2020.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:
  • Proficiency in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, SnapChat and Opendorse (preferred, but not a requirement)
  • Partner with Marketing and Tour Media Official on day-to-day social postings
  • Assist in developing weekly social media tournament postings
  • Assist with developing Symetra Tour’s weekly social media reports to showcase growth for the Tour, Players and Tournaments on all social media channels
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Symetra Tour tournaments to fulfill Tour partner programs
  • Provide support for tournaments that fit with the Tour’s initiatives to elevate the Tour brand and support new tournaments with development of marketing and social plan
  • Research social trends and how other sports leagues are using them to increase
  • fan following and engagement

Job Requirements:
  • Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program at an accredited four-year college or university, and have completed at least the sophomore year. Alternatively, applicants may be currently enrolled in a graduate level program.
  • Proficiency in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+, SnapChat and Opendorse (preferred)
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator) (preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Organizational Skills and high attention to detail required
  • Self-starter and Team Player with the ability to work independently
  • Flexible schedule with opportunity for occasional travel preferred
