Executive Internship (Summer 2020)

Summary
The Executive Team manages the high-level organization operations and strategy of NARAL’s national mission. The Executive Intern will have the opportunity to work closely with the Executive team to assist with various projects and will gain in-depth knowledge of reproductive rights and large non-profit advocacy organization operations. The intern will get hands-on experience understanding and working towards NARAL’s mission and goals.
Internships with NARAL Pro-Choice America are an excellent way to build your resume while gaining valuable experience with a premier non-profit advocacy organization. NARAL Pro-Choice America will work with your school to secure academic credit where applicable.
Applications will be accepted January 20th, 2020 reviewed ongoing through March 13th. Interviews begin March 18th ongoing through April 10th.  
Location: Washington, DC
This position is: Internship, Hourly rate of $15/hr and $50 monthly metro stipend provided
Internship Date: May 26th with an end date flexible on or after August 14th, 2020. All interns will be required to attend an orientation on May 26th, 2020. 
Reports to: Sr Executive Coordinator
Responsibilities
  • Assist with special projects for the Executive team;
  • Research various political and development-related topics;
  • Conduct political outreach to organize events;
  • Assist the Campaigns team as needed;
  • Attend events both on and off-site to understand and further NARAL’s mission;
  • Provide general administrative support for the Executive team, as needed;
  • Assist in the planning and logistical preparation for internal and external meetings;
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Professional and polished demeanor;
  • Knowledge of and a strong commitment to reproductive rights issues and NARAL Pro-Choice America’s mission and goals;
  • Demonstrated writing skills, particularly in fast-paced environments;
  • Good academic standing;
  • Ability to produce concrete results with minimal supervision;
  • Ability to prioritize and handle a variety of projects simultaneously;
  • Ability to work effectively both individually and in a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program;
  • Must be available at least 20 hours per week full time preferred;
  • A strong interest in the political process;
  • Strong research, analytical, written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Drive;
  • General computer proficiency;
  • Experience with Prezi and WordPress a plus.
