RN Registered Nurse Specialty - Radiation Oncology
Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support our radiation oncology providers.
Overview
- Provide nursing care to patients receiving radiotherapy and assist in providing other patient care under the supervision of the Medical Director. Performs related duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing. Knowledge of the principles and skills needed for nursing, care, examination, diagnostic and treatment room procedures. Knowledge of medications and their effects, patient education, principles to develop a self-care program, instruments and common safety practices.
Licensure: Current valid state license.
Experience: One year experience working with oncology and/or terminally ill patients.
Certifications: Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period.
Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Knowledge of modern computer systems, oncology care and ability to communicate in a compassionate manner with patients, families and physicians. Working Conditions, Mental and Physical Requirements: Work in a modern ambulatory care environment. Standing, sitting, lifting as required for care of inpatients and outpatients. Exposure to occupational levels of radiation. Equipment Used: Patient care equipment and computer network.
