Advanced Dental Therapist
Children’s Dental Services (CDS) is an independent, non-profit agency dedicated to improving the oral health of children from families with low incomes by providing accessible treatment and education in our diverse community since 1919. CDS provides care to children up to 26 and to pregnant women.
Position Summary:
Opportunity to work in an exciting and diverse environment, providing care to a variety of patients. Provide skilled dental care to children and pregnant women, in compliance with the Collaborative Management Agreement and the policies and procedures of Children’s Dental Services. Flexible scheduling, full and part-time applicants considered (full-time preferred). Salary to be negotiated.
Responsibilities include:
- Provision of basic general dentistry services within the scope of the Collaborative Management Agreement.
- Review all patient charts and health history prior to providing any treatment.
- Observe, evaluate and apply knowledge of dental skills to the patients.
- Work cooperatively with the dental team, providing care in that setting
- Accurately record all procedures and pertinent information in patient record.
- Provide individualized and culturally targeted care to each patient.
- Assist in managing support personnel.
Qualifications Sought:
· Masters Degree allowing licensure as Advanced Dental Therapist
· Licensed in Dental Therapy eligible to become an Advanced Dental Therapist
· Pediatric dental and public health experience preferred.
· Work requires travel to various clinical locations within Twin Cities metropolitan area (all clinics are accessible by Metro Transit bus system).
· Bilingual ability helpful. People of color are encouraged to apply.
