Information Systems Specialist

Information Systems Specialist position available with Northern Star Scouting, one of the largest youth serving Councils within the Boy Scouts of America. Your efforts, input and direction will be important to staff and thousands of volunteers. You will be responsible for planning and supporting technology systems and software development at our headquarters and our seven traditional camps. You will work with volunteers, staff and outside resources to design, develop, and support systems and processes to maintain and improve council operations. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
§ Technology leadership: provides the strategic vision and framework for the Northern Star technology plan; manages the technology priorities of the council
§ Process Improvement: continually works on process improvement and documentation across departments and locations; integrates existing technology with existing business processes for improved efficiency
§ Product Ownership: works with staff and volunteers on completing council IT Project Application; engages in application programming and development
§ Technology Projects: custom databases MS SQL; websites and domains; responsible for budget management of technology cost centers

QUALIFICATIONS
§ Education: Associate Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred
§ Experience: IT experience required, minimum of three years preferred; Agile project and budget management experience is desirable; knowledge of Scouting is helpful; requires commitment to the mission, aims and methods of Scouting
§ Interpersonal skills: solid management, written and verbal communication, and problem-solving skills are required; must be a team player able to build positive relationships and to communicate effectively with volunteers and staff
§ Technology/software: must be able to adapt to changing technology and methods; knowledge of JavaScript, C# and Microsoft Suite of Enterprise products
