RTI (Response to Intervention) Teacher

RTI Teacher                 Immediate Opening 
(Response to Intervention)
 
Reports to: RTI Coordinator / Building Principal
 
Duties:
1. Discusses assigned duties with other RTI Teachers and RTI Coordinator in order to coordinate instructional efforts.
2. Identifies the needs of the learner.
3. Prepares lessons and needed materials, bulletin board displays, exhibits, equipment and demonstrations as needed.
4. Presents subject matter to students using the district prescribed intervention program.
5. Tutors and assists children individually or in small groups in order to help them meet grade-level learning expectations.
6. Supervises children in classroom, halls, cafeteria, school yards and gymnasiums or on field trips as assigned.
7. Maintains subject area focus and instructional momentum. Uses activites, which keep students, as a group, focused on class work.
8. Facilitates and records progress monitoring and benchmark assessments and collects them when completed.
9. Communicates with parents regarding student progress.
10. Enforces administrative policies and regulations governing students.
11. Scores progress monitoring and benchmark assessments and computes and records results using answer sheets or electronic marking devices.
12. Completes required reports in a timely manner.
13. Teaches socially acceptable behavior, employing techniques such as behavior modification and positive reinforcement.
14. Maintains a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
15. Works with other staff and RTI Coordinator in other tasks necessary in maintaining a professional and positive classroom environment, and performs other duties as may be assigned by the RTI Coordinator, administration and/or Board of Education.
 
Qualifications:
Valid IL Professional Educator License including endorsements for service in grade levels and area assigned.
Minimum Bachelor's Degree.
Prior teaching experience a plus.
Must be able to lift and/or move objects up to 10 lbs.
