The Human Resources Benefits Specialist will ensure that the organizations’ benefits offerings are aligned to attract, retain, and motivate our team to achieve the organization’s vision.

Growth Opportunity:
This is a great opportunity for an HR professional with experience in, or interest in learning more about: talent acquisition, employee relations, labor relations, compensation, and organizational and employee development. 
Primary duties include (but not limited to):
  • Collaborates with the Chief Financial Officer and Director of Human Resources to define the organization’s benefits strategy; analyzes market trends, design concepts, and benchmarks to identify cost/value improvements.
  • Spearheads the open enrollment process including design, implementation, scheduling and leading employee meetings, and facilitating benefits elections.
  • Perform day-to-day benefits administration, including claims resolution, reporting, reconciling and approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in our online benefits management system to provide vendors with accurate eligibility and election information.
  • Manages personnel changes in the online benefits management system and payroll systems including new hires, terminations, and processing of life events.
  • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility; creates communication and education materials to effectively communicate with employees on all benefit plan offerings.
  • Remains up-to-date on regulatory requirements; ensures compliance with the Affordable Care Act; accurately processes annual 1094C and 1095C forms.
  • Administers all aspects of workers’ compensation programs. Provides extensive case management and coordinates administrative aspects of the cases and claims.
  • Facilitates the annual creation of the OSHA 300 Log.
  • Implements, promotes, and provides ongoing administration of the company’s wellness program and safety initiatives. 
  • Responsible for full-cycle FMLA, ADA, Military, and Religious Accommodation and Leave administration. 
  • Assists with employee onboarding; conducts monthly benefits orientation meetings; conducts monthly new hire orientation session. 
Job Requirements
  • 4-year degree preferred.
  • SHRM-CP/PHR preferred.
  • 3+ years’ benefits administration required.
  • Excellent work ethic and ability to self-manage priorities to independently execute responsibilities in a consistently accurate and timely manner to ensure benefit plan compliance.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications in including the ability to create and maintain complex excel files and produce high-quality presentation materials.
  • HRIS proficiency required; Paylocity experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations a plus.
  • Must be able to easily learn new applications, interpret and analyze data, while being innovative and having the ability to adapt to change.
  • Strong detail orientation with a high degree of accuracy in work.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including the ability to explain benefit offerings to employees and explain benefits-related laws and regulations to senior management.
  • Must have a sharp eye for detail; the HR / Benefits Specialist is expected to be brilliant in the basics and commit to doing the ordinary things extraordinarily well.
