School Social Worker
1020 Rowell Ave, Joliet, IL. 60433
7:30-3:30 M-F, following a school calendar 
 
Thompson Instructional Center is a public-private partnership, therapeutic day school meeting the social-emotional and academic needs of students-grades K-8. We believe that every child has a right to a high quality education.
 
 Qualifications- Must have the following: 
  • IL PEL School Social Worker certification (25.215)
 
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide social work services as stated on the student’s Individualized Education Plans (IEP’S)
  • Maintain all documentation including social emotional goals, clinical logs, Functional Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
  • Strong consultative and data analysis abilities
  • Progress monitoring and evaluations
  • Positive Behavior Support
  • Behavioral and academic interventions
  • Consultation with teaching staff, parents, agencies and school districts
  • Strong skills in school-based problem-solving
  • Experience working with Special Education students with significant emotional and behavioral disorders is preferred.
Our ideal candidate has:
  • Experience in IEP work is ideal but can be taught.
  • Strong documentation and adherence to compliance
  • A "never give up" attitude
 
Pay & Details
  • 10 month position with 12 month pay (i.e. generous paid benefit time off throughout the year)

  • Hours are 8:00-3:30 M-F, following a school calendar
